Where to eat
Maggie's RestaurantA Family style restaurant. Great breakfast, cobblers, and dinner as well.
Maggie's is the yellow and green building at the bottom of the hill and across the road.
Bourbon Barrel Beef & Ale
454 Hazelwood Ave, Waynesville, NC 28786
This place is great!
It's an intamate, one room steakhouse that would make a great 'date' spot. I had the Maple Glazed Airline Chicken Breast and it was worth every penny of the $18. (yes, for chicken breast) Makes Carabbas look like amatures.
Find time to eat here.
Frankies Italian Tratoria
1037 Soco Rd, Maggie Valley, NC 28751
http://frankiestrattoria.com 2 Miles away
An upscale Italian restaurant with words like CAPRESE (GF) Sliced tomato & fresh mozzarella, over lettuce topped with roasted peppers & drizzled with EVOO & balsamic reduction, BRUSCHETTA, and ZUPPA on the menu.
From the bottom of our hill, turn right. Frankie's is on the right about 2 miles.
Coffee Shoppe and Ice Cream
Down by Maggie Valley Skis and Tees, in the little strip mall is a coffee shoppe and an ice cream shop. It will be on your left. I think there may even be a diner type restaurant right there too but I haven't eaten there.
Frog's Leap Public House
44 Church Street
Waynesville, NC 28786
A true farm to fork experience. They own a farm and the restaurant. They might be closed throughout January depending on the weather, check their website.
