Lake Junaliska is a public lake lined with church retreats. It is beautiful!
There are family things to do there like rent pedal boats, kayaks, canoes. There’s a low budget mini golf, tennis courts, a playground and even a pool over the lake.

You can rent golf clubs for like $3.
Rentals are closed in the winter but you can still play if you have tennis rackets, golf clubs, and balls.

There's a playground too.

It’s great to take a walk around the lake, even just over the bridge is plenty of fun.
A lap around the lake is 2.6 miles and may be too far your small kids.

I've seen the lake completely drained in the winter once – don't know why…

The lake is towards Waynesville and is 6 miles away.
Take a right onto US-19 and go 6 miles. Turn left.
It’s low key, beautiful and fun for a light family day.
